help...super 8 to video transfer

Hey all...I wanna shoot some footage on super 8 and then transfer it to dvdcam myself... How do I do this transfer without using a camera to transfer the film to dvcam? I see some units on ebay that you have to project the film into a little box then hook up a camera and recored through the box...I wanna not use a camera and just record with a deck...Is this possible? thanks
